Dr. Chloe Souza
DC

Hello! I'm Dr. Chloe Souza, BTV's chiropractor & kinesiologist and functional medicine practitioner.

I am a chiropractor, functional medicine practitioner, and kinesiology specialist, focusing on holistic musculoskeletal care, nervous-system–focused adjusting, applied kinesiology, movement assessment, and functional rehabilitation. I work with clients seeking relief from pain, recurring injuries, or instability, as well as those looking to rebuild strength, improve mobility, or deepen their understanding of their body. I also support individuals navigating long-standing trauma in the body, anxiety and stress responses, movement fear, or those wanting to reclaim confidence and connection with their physical selves after medical challenges or life transitions.

I guide clients toward:

  • Restored mobility & pain relief: Targeting chronic pain, injuries, and limited movement through chiropractic, kinesiology, and functional approaches to help your body move freely and comfortably.

  • Whole-body balance & resilience: Addressing musculoskeletal alignment, nervous system function, and underlying imbalances to build a foundation for long-term wellness and stability.

  • Preventive strength & optimal performance: Supporting injury prevention, healthy movement patterns, and physical vitality so you can stay active and confident in your body.

  • Holistic functional healing & transformation: Combining functional medicine, body awareness, and personalized guidance to help you reclaim confidence, mobility, and well-being after trauma, medical challenges, or life transitions.

My Story

My journey into chiropractic care started long before I ever understood what chiropractic even was. I grew up as a gymnast and then a soccer player, and sports were woven into nearly every part of my identity. At thirteen, I tore my right ACL. After months of rehab, I thought I had felt the worst pain I would ever know — until I went on to suffer three more major combinations of ACL, MCL, and meniscus tears between 2015 and 2019. Those injuries eventually forced me to stop playing altogether in my third year of college, and with that, a part of who I thought I was disappeared.

At the time, I was studying exercise science and kinesiology with every intention of going to physical therapy school. I was very familiar with the PT world, and yet I kept re-tearing myself despite doing everything “right.” During my final round of rehab, I worked with both a physical therapist and a chiropractor who adjusted me every week before training. Twenty-year-old me didn’t know why it mattered — I just did it as part of the routine. But when that rehab cycle ended, I stopped re-injuring myself for the first time in years. Six months later I was deemed a “liability” and could no longer compete, but even then I noticed something surprising: my body felt better than it ever had in college, simply because it was being supported and aligned.

Losing sports shook me in deeper ways than I expected. My plan for the future suddenly felt unclear, and my sense of self felt tangled in things I was still learning to unpack. I spent time studying psychology, digging into research, and slowly realizing that the path I wanted to take was shifting toward something more holistic, more functional, and more connected to the whole person.

After graduating in 2022, I took a break, applied to chiropractic school almost on instinct, and trusted myself enough to “see what happens.” What happened is that I fell in love with the craft. Chiropractic is not just adjusting joints — it is working directly with the nervous system, the command center of the body, and watching how removing even small interferences can ripple through someone’s physical, emotional, and neurological health. The deeper I went, the more I understood how everything is connected, and how vital it is to find root causes rather than simply chase symptoms.

I dove into Applied Kinesiology and the Zone Technique, learning to identify Primaries and support the body in doing what it already wants to do: heal. This perspective even reframed my own athletic injuries and helped me understand why I healed differently once I addressed more than just the joint.

I also grew up living with anxiety — the kind that sits in the body as much as in the mind. Traditional coping strategies helped, medications helped some, but it wasn’t until I studied chiropractic and neuroscience that I finally felt like I understood what was happening and how to manage it in a way that actually worked for me. Integrative, multimodal care isn’t just research to me — it changed my life.

I have always felt called to help others, but it wasn’t until chiropractic school that I truly recognized how my empathy, intuition, and intention shaped that calling. These qualities have brought me to patients who hadn’t felt relief in years, to friendships I hold close, to the smartest dog I’ve ever met, and to my wife — who has been a part of this journey since my first year in school. If she could have an honorary Doctorate in Chiropractic, she absolutely would; she believed in me when I couldn’t, practiced with me when I was afraid, and taught me that intention is as healing as technique.

At the core of my work, and my life, is this belief: when we meet people with genuine care, clarity, and the desire to support their healing — the results always follow.
